Terms of Use

Last updated: June 7, 2026

By using SlyceIt, you agree to these terms. SlyceIt is a free tool to help groups split restaurant bills. It does not process payments, hold money, or act as a financial intermediary.

The service

SlyceIt lets you photograph a paper receipt, parse it into line items, and share a link so friends can claim the items they ordered. The signed-in person (the “host”) creates the bill; guests open the link and claim items without signing up. Real-time updates show who has claimed and paid.

SlyceIt does not handle money

SlyceIt is not a payment processor. Friends pay the host directly through bank transfer, DuitNow, e-wallet, or any method the host chooses to display. We never see, store, or transmit money, card data, or bank credentials. Marking a participant as “paid” is a status indicator only — it does not transfer any funds.

Accuracy is your responsibility

OCR is imperfect. You should always review the parsed items, prices, taxes, and totals before sharing the link. You are responsible for confirming the bill matches the receipt and for resolving any disputes about who ordered what with your group.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SlyceIt to:

  • Process bills that are not yours to split, or impersonate someone else.
  • Upload images that contain illegal, abusive, or unrelated content (this is a bill-splitting tool, not a generic image upload).
  • Attempt to break, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Send unsolicited bill links (spam) to people who have not consented to receive them.

Accounts

Hosts sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. You can stop using SlyceIt at any time. To delete your SlyceIt account, see the Privacy Policy.

Guests are anonymous

Guests do not sign up; they only type a name. The name they type is shown to the host and to other guests on the same bill. Guests should pick a name their group recognises.

Service availability

SlyceIt is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including without notice. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that the service will be error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SlyceIt and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to errors in OCR results, disputes between you and your guests, missed payments, or temporary downtime. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under Malaysian law, including any non-excludable rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999.

Privacy

Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is issued in accordance with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (as amended). By using SlyceIt you acknowledge that policy.

Intellectual property

The SlyceIt name, mark, design, and application source code are owned by the operators of SlyceIt.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. You agree that the courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of SlyceIt, without affecting any right you may have to bring a claim before the relevant Malaysian authority where the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of SlyceIt after a change means you accept the updated terms.
